Lakshadweep

Lakshadweep, India’s smallest union territory, is a group of 36 coral islands and atolls in the Arabian Sea. Known for its pristine beaches, turquoise lagoons, and vibrant marine biodiversity, Lakshadweep is a hidden paradise for eco-tourists and scuba diving enthusiasts. The islands are primarily inhabited by Malayalam- and Dhivehi-speaking Muslim communities, with a unique blend of South Indian and islander cultures.

Agatti, Kavaratti (the capital), and Minicoy are some of the inhabited islands that offer serene landscapes and water sports. Fishing and coconut cultivation are the main economic activities. The region’s coral reefs and seagrass beds are ecologically significant, and efforts are ongoing to conserve its fragile ecosystem. Due to its remote location and limited accessibility, Lakshadweep remains one of the least explored yet most beautiful parts of India.
