Muktsar, officially known as Sri Muktsar Sahib, is a historically significant city and the district headquarters located in the Indian state of Punjab. As the 14th largest city in Punjab by population, Muktsar holds a prominent place due to its rich Sikh heritage, most notably linked to the Battle of Muktsar in 1705 where forty Sikh warriors, known as the “40 Muktas,” sacrificed their lives.
